Franquette Walnut Sapling Characteristic

Franquette walnut tree has a strong structure and shows a vertical development. It is the last walnut variety to open among the walnut varieties. Franquette walnut saplings lie late to fruit because they cannot pollinate their flowers. For this reason, it does not bear much fruit. It is more resistant to frost than other walnut varieties.

Its fruit structure is moderately thick-skinned and has a delicious taste. The inside of the fruit is easily removed from the peel.

Franquette walnut can be used as pollinator for Chandler, Fernor and Pedro. When preferred as the main species, Ronde de Montignac variety can be planted next to it as a pollinator. It begins to be harvested in autumn.
